The Assembly of God Church School Sumderchak

The educational legacy initiated by Pastor Buntain in Kolkata in 1964 reverberated across regions, transcending boundaries and socio-economic limitations. What started as a beacon of hope for 200 underprivileged children burgeoned into a multifaceted academic crusade, perpetuating empowerment and enlightenment.

The inaugural Assembly of God Church School in Kolkata not only imparted education but nurtured lives with sustenance, offering a holistic sanctuary for eager young minds amidst adversity. Its genesis signaled an era of transformative change, channeling education as a catalyst for societal elevation.

The ripple effect was profound. The establishment of nine Village Vernacular schools in rural South Bengal during the 1970s echoed a commitment to extend enlightenment beyond urban peripheries. Each school became a sanctuary of knowledge, nurturing intellects often overlooked, thereby bridging the urban-rural educational divide.

The expansion didn’t halt. A second English Medium school in Tollygunge and a Teachers’ Training Junior College were added to the educational constellation. The quest for academic excellence widened its arc, traversing boundaries into West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha. The establishment of numerous schools in these regions became a testament to the enduring commitment towards democratizing quality education.

Pastor Buntain's vision, initially conceived to alleviate the plight of the marginalized, burgeoned into a symphony of educational institutions. Each school, an oasis of learning, became a cornerstone for communities, empowering generations with the beacon of knowledge and the promise of a brighter future.
