The  Sunshine School for Differently Abled Children, established in 2010, stands as a testament to compassion and dedication in the realm of special education. At its helm is Mrs. Paramita Mazumdar, a visionary educator and the driving force behind the school's inception.

Mrs. Mazumdar's journey is deeply intertwined with a personal experience—her own son, presently 20 years old, is diagnosed with autism. It was this profound personal connection and the inherent understanding of the unique needs of differently abled children that inspired her to embark on the remarkable initiative of establishing the Sunshine School.

Sunshine School proudly holds its affiliation with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), renowned globally as a distinguished private board of school education. CISCE's reputation rests on its meticulously curated and balanced syllabus, earning recognition from various foreign education systems—a distinction that sets it apart from other Indian education boards.

With its affiliation code WB221, Sunshine School aligns itself with CISCE's esteemed standards, reflecting a commitment to delivering a comprehensive and high-quality education. However, it's essential to note that while the school currently holds provisional affiliation status, marking a significant step towards offering ICSE Class X examinations, this affiliation isn't permanent.
