St. Joseph & Mary'S School

Established in 1963 by Mr. T. L. Lumb with a humble beginning of 17 students and 5 teachers, St. Joseph & Mary’s School has evolved into a Government-recognized, private, unaided educational institution of prominence with over 2500 students. The school's journey, under the able leadership of various educators, has been marked by a steadfast commitment to academic excellence.

Initially overseen by Mrs. Sulekha Goswami and later under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) S. C. Shome and others, the institution underwent significant growth. In 1980, it obtained affiliation with the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), marking a milestone in its academic journey. The school's expansion continued, culminating in the construction of its own building in New Alipore, Kolkata, in 1979.

Transitioning into offering the ISC or Higher Secondary curriculum in Science, Commerce, and Humanities in 1998 was a significant stride in academic advancement. This marked a pivotal phase, termed the 'golden period, ' characterized by academic growth and achievement.

The school is renowned for its administration guided by Dr. Bhakta Sundar Sharma, which ushered in remarkable achievements and academic milestones. St. Joseph & Mary’s School boasts a team of highly qualified and dedicated teachers committed to imparting quality education.
