St. Francis Xavier School

The inception of St. Francis Xavier School in 1982 marked a pivotal moment in the landscape of education. Driven by the passion for teaching and armed with a Master’s degree, Mrs. Sheela Chopra embarked on a mission to revolutionize education in response to the scattered and disorganized nature of foundational learning at the time. Recognizing the concerns of parents seeking quality education for their children, she envisioned a model institution that would meet not only academic standards but also provide an organized and structured environment for learning.

Her vision took shape with a humble yet determined start, catering to the educational needs of the local community. The school's rapid growth soon outpaced the capacity of the four premises initially acquired. Realizing the need for a larger space, the Founder Principal navigated through the bureaucratic corridors, engaging with the Education Department and allied Ministries of the Government of West Bengal.

Their gracious allotment of land laid the foundation for the present-day St. Francis Xavier School, a testament to the visionary approach to education and the commitment to fostering academic excellence within the dynamic Salt Lake City community, echoing the aspirations of the esteemed Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.
