St. Augustine's Day School Ripon Street

Established on November 15th, 1970, by Mrs. E. Gasper (nee Graham), our institution embodies the vision of an English Medium Co-educational school dedicated to fostering knowledge across diverse communities. Mrs. E. Gasper, with her foresight, aimed to advance the Anglo-Indian community and other communities seeking English-based education rooted in National and Catholic principles. The late C.R. Gasper undertook the pivotal role of Principal, guiding the school's early years. Classes commenced in January 1971 at 43, Ripon Street, Kolkata.

Named in honor of Saint Augustine of Hippo, a distinguished scholar of the Roman Catholic Church from East Africa, our school proudly carries forward his legacy.

With offerings from Nursery to Class XII, we operate under the registration of the West Bengal Societies Act, 1961, and hold the distinction of being a Minority School. Our governance aligns with the code of regulations designed for Anglo-Indian schools and other listed educational institutions in West Bengal.

Moreover, we are affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, responsible for conducting the ICSE and ISC Examinations. This affiliation underscores our commitment to maintaining rigorous academic standards while providing a well-rounded educational experience.
