Loreto House

The school's annual calendar brims with a diverse array of meticulously planned events, meticulously crafted to furnish a holistic educational experience for its students. Upholding the significance of pivotal National Days such as Independence Day and Republic Day, alongside commemorating the Birth Anniversaries of distinguished luminaries like our esteemed founder, Mary Ward, and the revered poet Rabindranath Tagore, constitutes an integral part of our academic calendar. Additionally, the school fervently embraces the rich cultural tapestry of India by observing various festivals, fostering a sense of cultural appreciation and inclusivity among the student body. Furthermore, marking essential International Days like Labour Day, Earth Day, Human Rights Day, Teachers’ Day, and Children’s Day forms an essential facet of our educational ethos, imparting global awareness and social consciousness to our students.

At the heart of our commemorative activities lies the legacy of Mary Ward (1585 - 1645), the visionary foundress of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This global religious order predominantly focuses on the education of girls, with the 'Loreto' nuns affiliating with the esteemed Irish branch of the Institute. Alongside this branch, two other branches, often referred to as the 'Roman Branch' and the 'American Branch, ' further contribute to the Institute's worldwide presence. The collaborative efforts across these branches echo Mary Ward's enduring mission, promoting educational empowerment for girls and echoing her noble vision across continents.
