Ling Liang High School

Building upon the visionary efforts of the late Rev. Dr. & Mrs. T. David Lamb, missionaries of unwavering dedication who arrived in India from Shanghai, China in 1949, the inception of Ling Liang High School in January 1974 marked the culmination of their resolute commitment to education. Their profound reverence for literacy laid the groundwork for pioneering strides in education, culminating in the establishment of two remarkable institutions—one situated in Central Kolkata and the other in the eastern suburbs of the city.

Their unwavering dedication to serving children and the underprivileged positioned them as emissaries of God's love within the community. This educational establishment stands as a testament to their deep-seated affection and concern for both education and the well-being of children.

Remarkably, the school's current location was once a desolate, marshy expanse devoid of any discernible purpose. It was during this time that the discerning gaze of the Lambs discovered this neglected land, brimming with filth and neglect, and transformed it into an esteemed center for educational enlightenment. The institution's enduring aspiration is to stand as a bastion for the holistic development of the human persona, a cherished aspiration of its esteemed founders.
