About School
Christopher Day School, initiated on 21st January 1977 by Fr. Gilbert Pinto and supported financially by Mr. D’Souza, emerged from the pressing need felt by the people of Nimpura for a local educational institution. Initially overseen by Fr. Gilbert Pinto and a committed team of teachers, the school saw a transformative phase from 1983 with the arrival of the Servite Sisters. In February 1983, a new chapter in the school's history began.
The institution, a Catholic school under the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Calcutta, underwent significant developments over the years. From 1981 to 1983, Rev. Fr. Joachim took charge of the school, marking another phase of its growth. It received permanent recognition from the West Bengal Government on 3rd January 2002 during its silver jubilee year.
The school achieved a milestone in 2004 when its first batch of Class X students appeared for the ICSE examination through Sacred Heart School. This journey from humble beginnings to obtaining permanent recognition reflects the commitment to academic excellence and the educational aspirations of the Nimpura community.
