Overview

NEET 2025 Official Answer Key: NEET UG OMR Response Sheet Soon; NTA Marking Scheme and Result Date

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the candidate's response sheet and answer key for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025. The NEET UG 2025 exam took place nationwide on Sunday, May 4. The official website for NEET, neet.nta.nic.in, will host the answer key for all question paper codes.

In addition to the answer key, NTA will also provide the candidates' NEET OMR response sheets. While the NTA has not yet announced a specific date for the release of the answer key, the NEET UG result is expected on June 14.

Looking back at previous years, NEET was conducted on May 5 in 2024, with the provisional key released on May 29, a 24-day gap. In 2023, the exam took place on May 7, and the provisional answer key was released on June 4, after a 28-day gap. For NEET UG 2022, which was held on July 17, the provisional answer keys were made available 45 days later, on August 31.

The NEET UG question paper consisted of 180 compulsory questions covering physics, chemistry, and biology (botany and zoology).

NEET UG 2025 Marking Scheme

- Correct Answer: Four marks (+4)

- Incorrect Answer: Minus one mark (-1)

- Unanswered/Marked for Review: No marks (0)

If more than one option is correct, four marks (+4) will be awarded to any candidates who select any of the correct options. If all options are found to be correct, four marks will be given to all candidates who attempted the question.

If none of the options are correct, or if a question is deemed wrong or dropped, all candidates who took the test will receive four marks (+4), regardless of whether they attempted the question.

How Was the Exam This Year?

According to students who participated in the test and experts in the field, the questions in the NEET UG 2025 exam were more challenging compared to previous years. Many candidates found the overall exam more time-consuming and conceptually demanding. The questions followed the pre-COVID pattern, and the increased complexity, particularly in physics and chemistry, made it difficult to achieve high scores.
