CBSE Leds to know all students about CCTV Surveillance in Exam Hall 2025

Overview
Get ready for the CBSE Board Exams 2025! With an estimated 44 lakh students gearing up to take the exams, the use of CCTV has been made mandatory to ensure a fair and secure testing environment.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an order on September 27, directing schools to ensure that all exam halls are equipped with CCTVs. In a notification addressed to the principals and heads of institutions of all affiliated schools, it was stated that board examinations for Classes 10 and 12 will only take place in rooms with CCTV facilities. Schools without fixed cameras will not be considered as examination venues for students. This policy will be implemented for the 2025 examinations. CBSE has estimated that approximately 44 lakh students will appear for the Class 10 and 12 examinations this year.
To ensure the smooth and fair conduct of exams on this large scale, the Board has developed a CCTV policy, requiring educational institutions to install high-resolution cameras that provide clear visibility of student actions and examination materials. As part of the policy, recordings of the examination hall must be stored properly for at least two months from the date of the declaration of results for Classes 10 and 12. This is to facilitate easy retrieval of recordings if the Board needs to review them. Access to the camera footage will be restricted to authorized personnel only. CBSE has instructed schools to ensure that the cameras have dynamic monitoring capabilities for specific areas or students, with options for pan, tilt, and zoom. It is important to note that the cost will not be covered by the Board.
Both parents and students will be informed of the purpose of this decision and their rights during the examination. Schools are advised to disseminate information through various means such as orientation sessions, handbooks, and notice boards. They have also been advised to gather feedback from students, staff, and examination officials to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments.
At each examination center, one person will be made responsible for monitoring the fair conduct of the examinations for every 10 rooms or 240 students.
