The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has released a revised schedule for Class 10 and Class 12 exams that were postponed earlier in November. The new dates apply to selected subjects in Bihar, the Nuapada Assembly constituency of Odisha, and all centres across India.

In Bihar, the postponed exams will now be held on November 29, 2025. On this day, Class 12 students will appear for Biology, Accountancy, Introduction to Law, and Military History from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Class 10 students will take Urdu, Sanskrit, and Bodh Darshan at the same time. The Indian Sign Language exam for Class 10 will be held from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

For Bihar and Nuapada (Odisha), additional exams will take place on December 1, 2025, including Mathematics, Veda Adhyayan (Class 12), and English (Class 10).

Across all India centres, exams that were scheduled for November 6 will now be conducted on December 2, 2025. These include Physics, History, Environmental Science, Library & Information Science for Class 12, and Painting for Class 10.

The exams were postponed earlier due to the Bihar Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, an RTI response by the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) revealed that under the ‘NIOS Project’, around 70% of Class 10 students have failed on average over the past four years. The project aims to support students who fail in Classes 9 and 10 or struggle academically by enrolling them in NIOS and providing separate classes to help them continue their education.
