CBSE has officially announced the 2025 Practical Examination Schedule for winter-bound schools, with exams set to commence early from November 6, 2025.
In a proactive move to accommodate the climatic calendar of winter-bound regions, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the official schedule for Class 10 and 12 Practical Examinations, Project Assessments, and Internal Assessments for the academic session 2025–26.
Unlike regular schools that will commence practicals from January 1, 2026, students in winter-bound areas will begin theirs much earlier — from November 6 to December 6, 2025 — ensuring that harsh weather conditions do not hinder academic continuity.
This advance timeline, as highlighted in CBSE’s latest circular, comes with a detailed set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and school-level compliance guidelines designed to maintain transparency, efficiency, and uniformity in evaluation.
What
Schools Need to Do:
Single Internal Assessment for Class 10: Schools must complete and upload Internal Assessment marks within the stipulated window, as the process will be conducted only once.
Coordination with CBSE Regional Offices: Each school is required to contact its Regional Office for the nomination of external examiners and observers to ensure impartial assessment.
No Delay Policy: CBSE has emphasized timely completion and dispatch of all practical answer books and records to the respective Regional Offices.
Applies Exclusively
to Winter-Bound Schools:
The circular specifically clarifies that this schedule is exclusive to winter-bound schools.
Institutions following the regular
academic calendar will receive a separate notification
with their respective timelines in due course.
By releasing this schedule well in advance, CBSE reinforces its commitment to fairness and preparedness, ensuring that students from every region — regardless of weather constraints — can perform their practical assessments under optimal conditions.
For complete details and official updates, schools and students are advised to visit the CBSE official website and review the latest circular issued by the Board.
